Canadian police have arrested three Indian-origin truck drivers following a violent shootout between rival tow-truck groups in Brampton, an incident that was captured on video and released by Peel Regional Police. The confrontation took place late on October 7 in a parking lot near McVean Drive and Castlemore Road, where two groups clashed and exchanged gunfire. One person suffered minor injuries but did not require serious medical intervention.
After weeks of investigation, officers identified several individuals allegedly linked to one of the groups involved. A search warrant was executed on November 20 at a residence in Caledon, leading to the arrest of three suspects: Manjot Bhatti, Navjot Bhatti and Amanjot Bhatti. Police said a fourth participant—seen in the video firing a weapon—is still at large and remains unidentified, though he is described as a South Asian man wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
Manjot faces serious charges, including intentional reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited weapon, careless storage, carrying a concealed firearm and knowingly being in a vehicle containing a firearm. He has been released on bail and is awaiting a court hearing in Brampton. Navjot and Amanjot have been charged with being occupants of a vehicle while aware of the presence of a firearm and were released with conditions pending their court appearances.
The shootout adds to growing concerns in the Peel region regarding violent disputes within the tow-truck industry, an area that has seen multiple turf wars in recent years. Police continue to search for the fourth suspect and are urging the public to share any information that may help in locating him.
