Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The Ministry of Media of Saudi Arabia has launched the second edition of its flagship ‘Global Harmony’ initiative, opening with ‘India Week’ as the inaugural celebration under the ongoing Riyadh Season. The initiative, part of the Quality-of-Life Program supporting Saudi Vision 2030, aims to celebrate the cultural diversity of the Kingdom’s residents and highlight their contributions to Saudi society.
Organized in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), this year’s edition features a vibrant lineup of cultural, artistic, and entertainment events. ‘India Week’ honors the deep-rooted presence of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia through music, dance, art exhibitions, culinary experiences, and traditional craft showcases.
Prominent Indian artists, media personalities, and cultural figures are participating in the week-long festivities, underscoring the strong cultural and historical ties between India and Saudi Arabia.
Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, praised the initiative, describing it as “an excellent effort to build cultural bridges and reaffirm the close historical bonds between India and Saudi Arabia.” He added, “Building on the success of last year’s edition, this year promises an even bigger celebration of Indian music, dance, cuisine, and handicrafts, with participation from renowned Indian artists and performers.”
The broader Global Harmony program will spotlight 14 different cultures represented by residents in Saudi Arabia, including those from the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Uganda, and Ethiopia. The initiative will feature concerts, travelling performances, family-friendly activities, traditional foods, and handicraft exhibitions at multiple venues across the Kingdom.
By showcasing diverse traditions and fostering greater cultural exchange, the Global Harmony Initiative continues to strengthen people-to-people connections and promote a spirit of unity in diversity aligned with Saudi Vision 2030’s cultural transformation goals.
