Mohit Suri’s latest directorial venture ‘Saiyaara’, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, continues its impressive run at the Indian box office. The film has officially crossed ₹260 crore in net domestic collections by Day 12. Despite witnessing its first noticeable drop in earnings on the second Monday, the movie remains strong overall and continues to attract audiences.
The film recorded ₹9.25 crore on Day 11 (Monday), its first single-digit collection since release, marking a near 50% drop compared to the previous Friday. On Day 12 (Tuesday), it earned ₹4.07 crore by the afternoon, taking the total domestic net to ₹260.57 crore, as per data shared by Sacnilk.
While the Monday dip was expected in the second week, trade experts believe Tuesday could see a recovery due to discounted ticket pricing at multiplexes. However, the film has started facing competition, particularly from ‘Mahavtar Narsimha’, which has seen mass bookings from religious groups like ISKCON. This has possibly impacted ‘Saiyaara’‘s numbers in select circuits.
Looking ahead, the film may face tougher competition at the box office from August 1, when two new releases — ‘Son of Sardar 2’ and ‘Dhadak 2’ — are set to clash. Their performance and audience reception will determine if ‘Saiyaara’ can maintain its momentum into the third week.
On the global front, the film has already surpassed ₹350 crore, making it one of the top-grossing films of the year so far. With strong word of mouth and wide audience appeal, ‘Saiyaara’ has established itself as a clear commercial success despite minor mid-week fluctuations.
