Director Nitesh Tiwari, known for hits like Dangal and Chhichhore, is stepping into the mythological genre for the first time with the grand cinematic adaptation of Ramayana. And it’s not just a big leap for him — it’s a milestone in Indian cinema. Ramayana has officially become the most expensive Indian film ever made.
A Record-Breaking Investment
According to Bollywood Hungama, the total budget for the Ramayana franchise is a staggering ₹1600 crore. The first part alone is being made on a massive ₹900 crore budget, while the sequel is allocated ₹700 crore. From world-class VFX and exceptional cinematography to epic sets and costumes, the makers are pulling out all stops to deliver a never-seen-before cinematic spectacle.
The decision to split the movie into two parts (Part 1 in 2026, Part 2 in 2027) allows the creators to dive deep into the epic while maintaining high production values.
All-Star Cast & Global Music Legends
The film is jointly produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The music is being composed by two industry legends — A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, promising a truly global sound.
