Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has been the subject of rumors following reports of alleged corruption at the New India Cooperative Bank Limited, which led the Reserve Bank of India to suspend its operations. It was claimed that the bank had waived off an ₹18 crore loan taken by Zinta. The actress, who has been away from films but remains connected with her fans through cricket as the owner of the IPL team ‘Kings XI Punjab,’ recently addressed these claims.
Preity Zinta, who married Gene Goodenough in 2016 and settled in the U.S., took to clarifying the loan waiver allegations. In a statement, she explained, “More than 12 years ago, I had an overdraft facility with New India Cooperative Bank. Over 10 years ago, I completely paid off the outstanding balance related to this overdraft, and the account was closed.”
Thus, Zinta debunked the rumors that her ₹18 crore loan was ever waived, shedding light on the situation.
