Over 630 Million Devotees Take Holy Dip; Maha Shivaratri Leads to No-Vehicle Zone in Mela Area

The Maha Kumbh Mela has witnessed over 630 million devotees taking a holy dip so far. As the grand festival reaches its final bathing day on Maha Shivaratri, the administration has imposed a No-Vehicle Zone in the Mela area starting from Tuesday. This restriction will remain in effect until the conclusion of the festival.

From Tuesday morning at 8 AM, all vehicles, except for administrative and medical vehicles, will be prohibited from entering the Mela area. Devotees’ vehicles will be directed to the nearest parking areas until space is available. To ensure smooth traffic management during this important period, the decision has been made by the Mela police.

On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the Akshayavat (immortal tree) will also remain closed for devotees. This marks the final phase of the Maha Kumbh’s sacred bathing rituals.
