Two young men, identified as Viksit Rana and Piyush, went missing near the Bharmani Temple after being caught in severe snowfall. After four days of relentless cold, snowstorms and treacherous terrain, rescue teams and local villagers finally located them—both having lost their lives after being trapped in the snow.
What awaited the rescuers was a scene that left even seasoned locals shaken. Piyush’s body lay partially buried under thick layers of snow. Sitting beside him, unmoving and silent, was his pet pit bull.
Despite freezing temperatures, heavy snowfall and the presence of wild animals in the region, the dog refused to abandon its owner. For four days, it neither left the spot nor accepted food, standing guard through blizzards and icy winds. Locals believe the dog stayed not only out of loyalty but also to protect the body from animals roaming the mountainous terrain.
Residents of the area described the sight as heartbreaking and unforgettable. In conditions where survival itself is a challenge for humans, the dog’s endurance and devotion became a powerful symbol of unconditional loyalty.
