Gold Smuggling Attempt Foiled
A shocking case of gold smuggling via train has been uncovered in Basti, Uttar Pradesh. Acting on a tip-off, the Government Railway Police (GRP) conducted a search operation on the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Express and seized gold worth ₹1.25 crore.
Smuggler Arrested During Operation
During the search, officials found a suspect carrying gold concealed to avoid detection. The authorities arrested the smuggler and confiscated the smuggled gold. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origins and intended destination of the gold.
Train Chosen to Evade Detection
According to officials, the smuggler chose the train route to blend into the crowd and avoid suspicion. However, security personnel were alert and intercepted the illegal consignment in time.

Authorities are now probing whether the smuggler was part of a larger syndicate involved in gold smuggling. Further inquiries are being conducted to trace other possible links in the case.
