U.S. Assures Support to India Following Pahalgam Terror Attack
After the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 tourists, tensions have escalated between India and Pakistan. Amid Pakistan’s repeated ceasefire violations and cross-border firing, the U.S. State Department has expressed strong support for India.

Tammy Bruce: U.S. in Contact with Both Nations
During a press briefing on Friday, U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated, “We fully support Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The United States is in constant communication with both the Indian and Pakistani governments.” She emphasized that the U.S. is closely monitoring the situation.

US Secretary of State Engaged in Diplomatic Talks
Tammy Bruce also shared that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held discussions on Thursday with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Pakistani counterpart Shahbaz Sharif. These talks focused on de-escalating the situation and maintaining regional stability.

Rising Cross-Border Tensions Since April 22 Attack
The statement from the U.S. comes at a time when Pakistan has been continuously violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC). Following the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists, cross-border shelling has intensified. In response, the Indian Army remains on high alert.

Washington Reaffirms Vigilance and Diplomatic Engagement
The U.S. administration has reiterated its close watch on the developments in South Asia and reaffirmed its commitment to regional peace. While urging calm, the U.S. continues to engage with both nations diplomatically.
