Delhi Police Bust Rs 2.25 Crore Cocaine Racket, Three Arrested

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a cocaine supply network in the capital with the arrest of three men and the recovery of 194 grams of the drug worth around ₹2.25 crore in the international market.

Police identified the accused as Rahul Wadhwa (32), Abdul Kadir (29), and Chimezie Lazarus Indedinge alias Zudo (35), a Nigerian national. Acting on a tip-off on September 6, police laid a trap in Rohini and caught Wadhwa and Kadir red-handed while they were about to deliver a consignment. A total of 85 grams of cocaine was recovered from them. During questioning, both revealed that the consignment was supplied by Zudo, who they described as the mastermind of the racket.

Based on this information, the Crime Branch raided Mehrauli on September 10 and arrested Zudo. Another 109 grams of cocaine was seized from him. Investigators said Zudo had come to India in January 2023 for medical treatment but later turned to the drug trade due to financial troubles. He allegedly controlled supply chains reaching Delhi, Gurugram, Meerut, Chandigarh, and Haldwani, and recruited small-time workers into his network by offering quick money.

Kadir, who earlier worked as a taxi driver, was lured into the racket with just ₹1,000 per delivery. He later brought in Wadhwa, also a former taxi driver, to expand the network. Police said none of the accused had a previous criminal record, which allowed them to operate under the radar for some time.

Officials added that the investigation is still on to identify other members of the gang, financial transactions linked to the trade, and possible international connections. “This seizure has dealt a major blow to their network. We are now tracking their wider chain and financial links,” a senior officer said.
