Lucknow, March 3, 2025: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued an important directive to improve road safety and reduce accidents. He has instructed officials to ensure that liquor shops are completely removed from the expressways and highways across the state.
The Chief Minister expressed his concerns over the annual statistics of road accidents and discussed ways to reduce them in a meeting with officials. He emphasized the need for concrete steps to address the growing number of accidents on state roads.
Discussion on Road Accidents:
During the meeting, CM Yogi discussed the alarming number of road accidents in the state. He stated that the presence of liquor shops along expressways and highways increases the risk of accidents. To address this issue, he ordered the removal of these liquor shops to ensure road safety.
Mandatory Verification for E-Rickshaw Drivers:
CM Yogi also directed that e-rickshaw drivers undergo proper verification. This step aims to make e-rickshaw services safer and crack down on unauthorized drivers operating without verification.
Other Directives:
Additionally, the Chief Minister ordered a strict check on vehicles coming from other states without permits. He instructed officials to take strict action against such vehicles and ensure better control over their movement within Uttar Pradesh.
