‘BSP No Longer Holds a Mission for Dalits,’ Udit Raj Appeals to BSP Workers to Join Congress

Lucknow, March 2, 2025: In a scathing attack on the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leadership, Congress leader Udit Raj has appealed to BSP workers to join Congress, asserting that the BSP has failed to fulfill its mission for Dalits. This statement came after BSP supremo Mayawati removed her nephew, Akash Anand, from all party positions.

Udit Raj Criticizes Mayawati’s Leadership:

Udit Raj, a prominent Dalit leader, expressed his disillusionment with Mayawati’s leadership, alleging that her actions are not in the best interests of Dalits. He stated that BSP no longer serves the purpose for which it was originally founded, and the party has lost its way. He further emphasized that with the removal of Akash Anand, the party has taken a step that harms its future prospects.

Appeal to BSP Workers:

Following this, Udit Raj appealed to BSP workers, especially those from the Dalit community, to leave the party and join Congress. He mentioned that Congress remains the only party that is truly committed to the welfare of Dalits and other marginalized communities.

The Removal of Akash Anand:

The controversy started when Mayawati, on Sunday, decided to remove her nephew Akash Anand from all party positions. Akash Anand had been a significant figure in the party, and his removal led to significant unrest among BSP workers. Instead, Mayawati has appointed his father, Anand Kumar, as the new General Secretary of the party, which has caused further discontent.

Udit Raj’s Position:

Udit Raj, known for his vocal stance on Dalit rights, has often criticized Mayawati’s style of leadership. His latest comments reflect his growing frustration with the BSP’s direction and his attempt to encourage a shift in allegiance among its supporters.

This development adds fuel to the ongoing political drama in Uttar Pradesh, as both the Congress and BSP battle for support from the Dalit community ahead of the upcoming elections.
