Once a Star, Now a Billionaire’s Partner
Gayatri Oberoi, best known for her role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the acclaimed 2004 film Swades, has reappeared in the limelight—not with a movie, but by offering a glimpse into her stunning Mumbai residence worth ₹400 crore. After stepping away from the film industry post-marriage, Gayatri has carved a new world for herself with her billionaire husband, Vikas Oberoi.
Inside the ₹400 Crore Luxury Home
The actress recently featured in a video on popular YouTuber Enes Yilmazer’s channel, where she gave a tour of her 16,000 sq ft residence located on the 45th floor of the ‘Three Sixty West’ tower in Mumbai’s upscale Worli area. The sea-facing home boasts five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and is valued at a staggering ₹400 crore (approximately $50 million).
Gayatri revealed that the home combines Indian materials with European design aesthetics. “Design, for me, is like storytelling. We built this home with love and attention to detail,” she said in the video. The visual tour quickly went viral on social media.
Internet Applauds the Couple’s Taste and Journey
Clips from the video made their way to Reddit, where users expressed admiration for the couple and their exquisite home. One user pointed out that Vikas Oberoi is the CEO of Oberoi Realty, with a net worth of $4.5 billion. Another joked, “If there’s a discount on ₹400 crore, we’ll take it!”
Some fans reminisced about Gayatri’s role in Swades and expressed curiosity about her personal journey. She married Vikas in 2005 and left Bollywood soon after.
A Journey from Screen to Realty
Gayatri’s performance as Geeta in Swades earned critical acclaim, but it remained her only film. Post-marriage, she became a creative partner at Oberoi Realty. Vikas Oberoi, the chairman and managing director of the company, has a net worth estimated at $6 billion (approx. ₹50,000 crore). He owns Mumbai’s Westin Hotel and is developing the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in the city. The couple has two sons, Vihaan and Yuvaan.
Brush with Death in 2023
In 2023, the couple survived a serious car crash in Italy involving multiple vehicles, which resulted in the deaths of two Swiss citizens. Speaking about the incident, Gayatri said, “By God’s grace, we are both safe.” The news of the accident also made headlines at the time.
