In preparation for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections later this year, the NDA government is planning a significant expansion of the Nitish Kumar-led cabinet. According to reports, six new ministers are set to take the oath of office. Among the potential ministers are Sanjay Sarawagi, Raju Singh, Avadhesh Patel, Jivesh Mishra, Anil Sharma, Tar Kishor Prasad, and Pawan Jaiswal. The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for today at 4 PM.
With elections approaching, the cabinet expansion is being strategically planned to balance caste equations. It is expected that two ministers from the upper caste, namely Rajput and Bhumihar, will be appointed. Additionally, two ministers from the backward classes and one from the Teli community are likely to join the cabinet. Reports indicate that out of the six, four ministers will likely be from the BJP, while two will be from the JD(U) quota.
