Fastest OTT Arrival for a Bollywood Film in 2025
Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s comedy film Bhool Chuk Maaf has hit the OTT platform just 14 days after its theatrical release. Directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the movie became one of the quickest Bollywood films this year to transition from cinema halls to digital streaming.
Theatrical Release After Legal Drama
Initially scheduled to release on 9 May, the film’s premiere was delayed due to the Pahalgam terror attack and the release of Operation Sindoor. The makers even announced a direct-to-OTT release after advance bookings opened. However, after legal intervention by PVR Inox, the Delhi High Court ruled in favor of theatre owners, and the film was finally released in cinemas on 23 May.
Now Streaming on Amazon Prime Video
Following a two-week theatrical run, Bhool Chuk Maaf is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting 6 June. The makers confirmed the release through a video shared on Instagram featuring the lead stars, urging viewers, “Don’t forget to watch!”
Strong Box Office Run Before OTT Release
Despite its short stay in theatres, the film performed impressively at the box office, collecting ₹66.75 crore in just 14 days. On its 14th day alone, it grossed ₹1.65 crore, showing steady performance even on non-weekend days.
