Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 83rd birthday on Saturday by continuing his cherished tradition of personally greeting fans outside his Jalsa residence in Mumbai. Thousands of admirers gathered outside his bungalow with flowers, posters, and banners, eagerly waiting to wish the legendary actor.
In the evening, Amitabh emerged from his home wearing a bright yellow and orange patterned jacket over a white kurta-pyjama. He greeted the crowd with folded hands, waved to his fans, and graciously accepted their birthday wishes. Several heartwarming videos shared on social media captured the actor in a jovial mood, tossing goodies to fans and responding to their cheers with smiles and waves.
Many Bollywood celebrities joined in celebrating Big B’s birthday on social media. Shatrughan Sinha, Kriti Sanon, and Manoj Bajpayee sent warm wishes, while Farhan Akhtar extended love and Kajol called him a “forever rockstar.” Kriti Sanon added that Amitabh’s legacy continues to inspire her.
Amitabh Bachchan married actress Jaya on June 3, 1973, and they are parents to Shweta and Abhishek Bachchan. Shweta is married to businessman Nikhil Nanda, and they have two children, Navya and Agastya Nanda. Abhishek is married to actress Aishwarya Rai, and the couple has a daughter, Aaradhya. Amitabh and Jaya have also shared the screen in iconic films such as Zanjeer, Abhimaan, Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Mili, and Silsila.
On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan will next appear in Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84, co-starring Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur, and Abhishek Banerjee, with the release date yet to be announced. He will also reprise his role as Ashwatthama in the sequel to Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi action epic Kalki 2898 AD, starring alongside Prabhas and Kamal Haasan, with production slated to begin in December.
