Akhilesh Yadav Accuses BJP of Plot to End Reservation through Privatization

SP Chief Claims BJP Is Selling Public Institutions to Benefit Capitalists

In a recent statement, Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of attempting to end reservation policies by pushing for privatization of public institutions. Yadav claimed that the BJP government, under the guise of privatization, is working to eliminate jobs and reservations that benefit marginalized communities.

Akhilesh pointed out that while the BJP government at the center has already privatized several public institutions, the Uttar Pradesh BJP government is following suit, promoting privatization across the state. He alleged that this move is part of a larger conspiracy to hand over state-owned enterprises to private capitalists, which could potentially harm the reservation system and reduce job opportunities for the general public.

The SP chief further stated that BJP governments cater to the interests of capitalists, and that the Uttar Pradesh BJP government is focused on privatizing major electricity distribution companies in eastern and southern regions of the state. He also expressed concerns that, in the process, valuable public assets worth billions of rupees are being handed over to private corporations.

Akhilesh Yadav criticized the BJP for being opposed to the Constitution and reservation policies. According to him, the BJP is constantly trying to find new ways to sideline the reservations and job opportunities for the weaker sections of society.

He also highlighted that employees and the general public are united in their opposition to these privatization policies. Despite this, Akhilesh argued, the BJP is willing to give away public resources to its close capitalist allies for personal gains.

Concluding his statement, Akhilesh Yadav reiterated that the public has recognized the BJP’s agenda, and in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the people will make a decisive move to oust the anti-people government of BJP.
