ANI, Ottawa — In a significant revelation following Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, Canada’s intelligence agency CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) has officially acknowledged for the first time that Khalistani extremists are using Canadian territory as a base to plan, fund, and promote violence in India.
CSIS Annual Report Confession
In its latest annual report released on Wednesday, CSIS confirmed that Khalistani militants continue to exploit Canada as a safe haven for their anti-India activities. The report states:
“Khalistani extremists primarily use Canada as a base to promote violence in India, raise funds, or plan extremist operations.”
India’s Long-Standing Warnings Validated
India has consistently warned Canada for years about Khalistani separatist activity thriving on its soil. Until now, these warnings had largely been ignored or dismissed by Canadian authorities. However, the CSIS report finally validates India’s concerns, calling Canada a “safe refuge for anti-India elements.”
Historical Context of Domestic Extremism in Canada
The report also refers to the 1980s wave of politically motivated violent extremism (PMVE) in Canada, which originated from radical factions within the country. It implies that similar patterns of foreign-linked extremism have once again emerged.
Geopolitical Implications
The CSIS admission comes just a day after Prime Minister Modi’s international diplomatic engagements, increasing pressure on the Canadian government to address growing concerns from India regarding terrorist safe havens.
