1. CM Yogi Adityanath Inspects the International Cricket Stadium

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently visited the under-construction international cricket stadium in Ganjari, Rajatalab, Varanasi. The stadium, being built at a cost of ₹451 crore, will cover 30.66 acres and have a seating capacity of 30,000 spectators.

During the inspection, CM Yogi instructed officials to ensure that the construction work is completed on time without any delays. He stressed the importance of a high-quality drainage system, road connectivity, and spectator facilities. He also met with engineers and workers involved in the project, encouraging them to maintain efficiency and quality in the construction process.

3. A Multi-Sport Facility with Modern Amenities

The stadium is not only designed for hosting international and national cricket matches but will also include facilities for other sports like badminton, table tennis, and swimming. It will be the third major international cricket stadium in Uttar Pradesh after those in Kanpur and Lucknow.

4. Potential Host for the T20 World Cup 2026

According to reports, the stadium is expected to host matches for the T20 World Cup 2026. This would provide a significant platform for regional sports talent and promote Varanasi as a major sports hub.

5. A Boost for Sports and Infrastructure in Varanasi

With this new stadium, Varanasi is set to emerge as a key center for cricket and other sports, attracting both national and international events in the coming years.
