Heavy rain and thunderstorms lashed parts of Noida on Tuesday, leading to waterlogging in several areas and causing traffic problems across the city.
Several low-lying areas were flooded after continuous rainfall during the day. Water accumulated on roads, making it difficult for vehicles to move. Commuters faced long delays as traffic slowed down in many parts of the city due to poor drainage.
In contrast, New Delhi did not receive major rainfall during the day, but weather conditions remained cloudy and humid. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, warning of light rain and thunderstorms in the coming hours.
The alert also covers nearby areas like Gurgaon, where similar weather conditions are expected. Officials said the weather system is moving across the region and rain activity may increase by late evening or the next day.
Due to changing weather conditions in the Delhi-NCR region, airline IndiGo issued a travel advisory. The airline warned passengers that bad weather over Delhi could affect flight schedules. Passengers have been advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
Authorities have asked residents to stay alert for sudden weather changes. People travelling in Noida have been advised to plan their journeys in advance, as waterlogging is likely to continue causing delays in several areas.
Weather officials said thunderstorms and light rain are likely to spread further across the NCR region, and conditions may remain unstable over the next 24 hours.
