The much-awaited Noida International Airport is all set for its official inauguration on March 28, with final preparations currently in full swing.
Located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, the airport is expected to emerge as one of India’s largest aviation hubs, significantly enhancing connectivity across the National Capital Region (NCR).
Authorities are conducting last-mile checks, including infrastructure readiness, security arrangements, and operational testing. Trial runs for passenger handling, baggage systems, and airside operations are underway to ensure a seamless start to operations.
In its first phase, the airport is expected to handle around 12 million passengers annually, with plans already in place for future expansion to accommodate rising demand.
The project is being developed by Zurich Airport International, which has been overseeing construction and operational planning. The airport has been designed with a strong focus on sustainability, incorporating energy-efficient systems and aiming to become one of India’s greenest airports.
Ahead of the launch, close coordination is taking place between aviation authorities, security agencies, and airline operators to ensure all regulatory approvals and safety checks are completed on time.
Once operational, the airport is expected to ease travel for millions while also acting as a major boost to economic growth in the region, supporting tourism, logistics, and real estate development.
