New Delhi:
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will close online applications for Constable (GD) Recruitment 2026 on December 31, 2025. The recruitment drive covers Constable (General Duty) posts in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Secretariat Security Force (SSF) and Rifleman (GD) posts through the Assam Rifles Examination 2026. SSC has urged aspirants to complete registration early to avoid technical disruptions due to high portal traffic in the final days.
Under this recruitment cycle, 25,487 posts are expected to be filled across the country’s major security forces. The vacancies span the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Assam Rifles and the Special Security Force (SSF). The notified tentative vacancy distribution lists 616 posts in BSF, 14,595 in CISF, 5,490 in CRPF, 1,764 in SSB, 1,293 in ITBP, 1,706 in Assam Rifles and 23 posts in SSF.
To be eligible, candidates must have passed Class 10 or Matriculation from a recognised board or university, with the qualification completed on or before January 1, 2026. The application fee is ₹100 and must be paid online. Female applicants and candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempt from paying the fee. Accepted digital payment modes include BHIM UPI, net banking and debit cards across Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and RuPay networks.
Applicants need to visit the official SSC portal at ssc.gov.in, log in or register, complete the form with accurate personal and academic details, submit it online and download the confirmation page for records. SSC has reiterated that last-minute submissions could be impacted by heavy server load, login failures or portal slowdowns, and advised candidates to secure their applications well in advance.
The SSC GD 2026 examination is a gateway into uniformed service roles that emphasise physical standards, verification of credentials and structured training post-selection. The full notification, eligibility rules and updates remain available on the official SSC platform.
