Ayodhya is preparing for another major moment in its spiritual and cultural journey as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the city on November 25 for a special flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The city has begun to transform in anticipation of the event, with roads being thoroughly cleaned, fresh signage being installed, and sanitation teams carrying out intensive maintenance across key areas.
Posters of Prime Minister Modi have been placed throughout Ayodhya, adding to the festive atmosphere. At the entrance of the Ram Temple, the inscription “Jati Pati Puche Nahi Koi, Hari Ka Bhaje So Hari Ka Hoi” welcomes visitors, reminding everyone of the inclusive devotion associated with the shrine. Decorative lighting, floral installations, and an overall sense of celebration have taken over the temple town.
Security arrangements have been significantly tightened ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival. All CCTV cameras in the vicinity have been activated, with new units added in locations considered vulnerable to unauthorised entry. The Local Intelligence Unit is conducting continuous monitoring, while police officers are patrolling throughout the day. Authorities have also initiated verification drives in slum clusters and temporary settlements near the borders, checking identification documents to ensure safety.
Temple officials have confirmed that this year’s rituals and celebrations will be more elaborate than ever. Subsidiary temples dedicated to deities such as Lord Mahadev, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Suryadev, Maa Bhagwati, Maa Annapurna, and Sheshavatar will be adorned with special decorations alongside the main sanctum. A group of 108 Acharyas from Ayodhya, Kashi, and South India, under the guidance of Kashi scholar Ganeshwar Shastri, will perform the ceremonies. A saffron flag bearing the Sun symbol, representing purity, radiance, virtue, and eternal energy associated with Lord Ram, will be hoisted during the event.
Prime Minister Modi, who earlier led the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024, will once again head the rituals in the presence of saints, dignitaries, and members of the temple trust. Nearly 6,000 invited guests are expected to attend the ceremony, marking it as one of the largest gatherings since the temple’s inauguration.
Meanwhile, local shopkeepers, transport operators, restaurants, and homestays across Ayodhya are witnessing a surge in demand, with many describing this as one of the busiest periods since the Pran Pratishtha celebration. The city, once again, is preparing to welcome thousands with devotion, excitement, and renewed energy.
