A 27-year-old model from Bhopal, Khushboo Ahirwar, was found dead under mysterious circumstances early Monday after her boyfriend allegedly dropped her at a private hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district and fled.
Doctors at the Bhainsakhedi hospital declared her brought dead and alerted the police. The body was sent to Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal, for postmortem under magisterial supervision following allegations from her family that she was murdered.
Her mother, Lakshmi Ahirwar, alleged visible signs of assault. “There were blue marks all over her body, her face was swollen, and her private parts were bruised. My daughter was brutally beaten to death,” she said.
According to the family, Khushboo was in a live-in relationship with a man named Qasim, who has been missing since leaving her at the hospital. The police said the couple was returning from Ujjain to Bhopal when her condition worsened, after which Qasim allegedly abandoned her and disappeared.
Khushboo, known on Instagram as @DiamondGirl30, was an emerging model in Bhopal with several photoshoots and brand collaborations to her credit. She had moved to Bhopal three years ago to pursue modelling and supported herself through part-time jobs.
Her family last spoke to her three days before the incident. “Qasim called and said he was taking her to Ujjain. Later, Khushboo called saying, ‘Don’t worry, Qasim is a good guy,’” her mother recalled.
Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for Qasim. Officers said the nature of the injuries raises suspicions of assault and possible sexual violence. “We are waiting for the postmortem report. All angles, including sexual assault and murder, are being investigated,” said an officer from Parwalia Police Station.
As the investigation continues, Khushboo’s family has appealed to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for justice.
