Viksit Bharat 2047: Adani Cement’s FutureX Initiative Bridges Schools and Industry

Adani Cement is taking a major stride toward India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through its FutureX programme, which aims to connect education with industry and equip students with practical skills, research exposure, and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Speaking at a recent event, Vinod Bahety, CEO of Adani Cement, emphasized the company’s role in nation-building, noting that “cement is very closely associated with infrastructure and housing, which are the backbone of any economy.” He highlighted the importance of engaging with academia to nurture future leaders: “How can we help the students who are the future leaders for Viksit Bharat 2047?”

The FutureX initiative facilitates collaborative partnerships with schools, universities, and research institutions, enabling students to participate in skill-building, innovation, and real-world industry projects. Bahety encouraged academic partners to provide ideas and feedback, stating, “You are now partners to a very exciting, hardworking, re-imaginative team. We would be very open to further ideas and suggestions on how you can help us.”

Currently, the programme spans 280 schools, 120 universities—including IITs and NITs—and over 400 academic institutions, reaching more than four lakh students. By connecting students with Adani Cement’s operations, laboratories, and R&D facilities, FutureX goes beyond classroom education to provide hands-on learning, research exposure, and industry-relevant experience.

Bahety emphasized that the initiative complements government efforts, such as the Yogya Bharat Mission, by boosting employability, entrepreneurship, and practical industry experience. “We want to engage very closely with the future leaders and give them real-life exposure,” he said, underscoring the programme’s focus on preparing students to actively contribute to India’s growth and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
