Mobile and broadband services of Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone-Idea (Vi) crashed in several major Indian cities on Monday, leaving lakhs of users unable to make calls or access the internet. The sudden outage triggered an online storm, with frustrated subscribers flooding social media platforms with complaints.
The disruptions began in Delhi and soon spread to Mumbai, Bengaluru, and parts of Gurugram. Users reported call drops, no signal, and slow internet speeds. Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their anger and confusion.
“Ported from Jio to Airtel due to internet issues, but now facing even bigger problems. Not able to use data while on calls & no proper response from customer care,” one user posted. Another wrote from Delhi, “The phone is not getting connected on any network. Is this only me or the entire city?”
In Gurugram, subscribers reported that voice services were completely down. “For the last 30 minutes, only internet is working, no calls possible,” one user said. Others from the NCR region complained they were unable to make or receive calls or even send messages.
According to outage tracker Down Detector, complaints about Airtel began around 3:30 pm and peaked within an hour. Acknowledging the issue, Airtel said on its customer care handle Airtel Cares: “We are currently experiencing a network outage. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue and restore services promptly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.”
As of now, Jio and Vi have not officially issued any statement, but users continue to report patchy services across multiple cities.
